DB 151154 at Rastatt - 23 March 2007. With the snow stopped conditions were better and just about OK for taking photos of moving trains. This northbound freight is shown entering Rastatt, a pretty good location where you can take photos of trains in both directions from the same spot, provided the sun's not out! Trains pass every few minutes, with a good mixture of power from Karlsruhe area trams to ICEs on passenger and all sorts on freights, though few diesel locos. Since a few months, there are two CFL trains running to Schweich (between Trier and Wittlich) to allow commuters to have a convenient and fast service to/from Luxembourg. One of the two trains is operated with DOSTO coaching stock and a class 4000 (which is allowed to run in Germany). The Great Britain at Nailsea & Backwell 07-04-07. Here are the two I missed last weekend. Up from Penzance and in fading light, 6024 & 5051 power the first leg of The Great Britain through Nailsea & Backwell at 7.35pm this evening. If anyone is near Bristol Barton Hill very early tomorrow these two plus 71000 should be visible. The Duke is due to leave Temple Meads at 12.15pm with the second leg of ‘The GB’ travelling via the Severn Tunnel & Chester to Preston. Buy Print©Pete Dix |
