North London 30-12-89. Withdrawn a couple of months earlier 47008 also stands in the yard at Stratford. She would stay here for a further four years before finally being cut up on site by The Bird Group in March 1994. There was a rumour once that this loco was reputed to have the strongest shade of silver on its roof of any of the Stratford roof paint jobs. Don’t know it that’s true but it looks very sad now in this picture.

North London 30-12-89. Whoops, aggressive shunting or what? I sincerely hope nobody was injured or worse looking at the extent of damage to the cab of 08640. She was a Reading shunter and had been withdrawn a year earlier. Disposal however wasn’t until early 1991 in Glasgow. 08640 Old Oak Common Depot 30-12-89
