ACTS-5811-60275-Waalhaven. Yesterday I went to the Harbour line south of Rotterdam. Overthere you have to be lucky, you can spend hours with only a single train... or half an hour with 5 trains. I spend a whole afternoon and did manage to gat around 15 trains, not bad for a tuesday You never know whats comming up next, so a ACTS 58 with a train normally hauled by a MAK G1206 is something you enjoy, even if the sun is shining streight into your lens.
©Maarten Otto

Clearing up at Cambridge 14-05-89. Just returned from holiday so let’s see what’s next? Having copped my last DMU trailer on the last trip I was impatient to finish the job so it was hot foot to Cambridge to chase my final driving car. First stop was Bedford where 20194 was nicely positioned.
©Pete Dix

Clearing up at Cambridge 14-05-89. A most pleasing moment, clearing my last operational DMU left on BR’s books. Metro Cammell class 101 power car 51208 was finally cornered inside its home depot of Cambridge.
©Pete Dix

Clearing up at Cambridge 14-05-89. From Cambridge we did an about turn and headed back towards the midlands stopping at Bletchley, Letchworth and Derby. For some reason I didn’t take many photos on this trip however the next pic shows 45121 (D18) standing withdrawn on Etches Park. She was cut up on site by a private contractor some four years later.
©Pete Dix

Clearing up at Cambridge 14-05-89. Now where would you expect the next photo to be from after Derby? Of course, Radyr yard South Wales, obvious really. We did travel via Saltley, Tyseley, Bescot and Wolverhampton though. Currently stored at Toton, I believe, 37799 starts off and heads up the valleys ready for its first duty on Monday morning.
©Pete Dix

Clearing up at Cambridge 14-05-89. Now here’s a nice little gem for us older folk. Ruston & Hornsby PWM653 in the engineers yard outside what was the old steam shed. Straight over the Severn Bridge and home after this shot but I must confess I wrote down every coal hopper in the yard!
©Pete Dix

Liverpool & Chester 25-06-89. Ready for action with pantograph raised and marker lights on? Or has somebody just left the ignition on? 85016 stands at Lime Street. I wonder what’s in those barrels behind, Courage best?
©Pete Dix
