Isle of Wight June 1988. The single section is now clearly visible as 485044 disappears from view. One worker says to the other “We always seem to have a piece of rail left over, where does that bit go?”
©Pete Dix

UK - Steam 76079 at Salisbury on 1st July 2007. Making a nice change from the regular Southern Railway steam locos on recent excursions, BR 76079 powers out of Salisbury this morning with the 'Brighton Breezy' tour from Bristol to Brighton. Very nice too!
©David Campbell

It was most interesting viewing the pics showing the present condition of the remaining Cl.87 locos. I first photographed this class when they were about 12 months old and before they received nameplates. BR - 87.004
©Keith Till

Isle of Wight June 1988. What stories can this little gem tell? With padlock in place and the dreaded cross and circle on the side, stores van 083569 sits at the rear of the station. It started life as Union Construction built LTE3045 in 1930. Transferred to the island around 1967 along with the rest of the 4VEC 3TIS stock, renumber S19S and assembled within 485043; eventually down graded to an internal in early 1985.
©Pete Dix

Isle of Wight June 1988. A close up of the Island line logo. The body work is a bit rough behind the paint but then I suppose I would be if I was 65 years old and had been through what these units have experienced.
©Pete Dix
