Dawlish Holiday October 1988. Laira twin 51932 & 52047 (both class 108 Derby lightweights) about to swing round into Teignmouth. Now here’s a useless piece of information, I copped these two cars as a twin on Newton Heath some twenty one years earlier in October 1967. The last log I have is of them running around as 977840/841, are they still with us?

Merseyside 13-11-88. Here’s a general view of Birkenhead Central Depot. I’ve deliberately lightened this photo, if you look closely inside to building on the left track you can just make out the red buffer beam of celebrity class 503 unit (28690/29720/29289). By this date the class had all been withdrawn and this unit was only used for special occasions. Has it survived to this date does anybody know? I have also read recently that the future of two car class 502 (28361/29896) previously at Steamport (now at MOD Kineton) is also in doubt, can anybody enlighten on this unit as well.
